Co2 Laser Cutters or Engravers are the little bit different than traditional engraving machines. With the laser engraving machine, no actual piece of mechanics (tools, bits, & so on) ever comes into contact with the surface which is being engraved. The laser itself does engraving & there is no need to continually be replacing engraving tips such as with the other machines.
The laser beam is directed at surface of material that is to be engraved & it traces patterns onto the surface. This is all controlled via the computer system. The center (focal) point of laser really is very hot and can either vaporize material or causes that are called the glass effect. The glass effect is where the surface actually just cracks & the material can be removed finally, revealing the engraving which has been done. There is no cutting procedure with the Co2 Laser Engraving Machine.
The Laser Engraving Machine simply works around the X & Y axis. The machine might be the mobile unit while the surface stays still. The surface might move while the laser stays still. Both the surface & the laser can move. Laser engravers can be used for many different things. Stamping is one of them.
